Christorama

Walk through the great doors, like those of the Basilica of Sainte-Anne de Beaupré, to discover the story of the "Life of Christ". Told in 50 panels embossed by hand on silver, by the master craftsman Albert Gilles, over a period of 15 years. Pilgrims will find the expression of their faith and secular groups and art lovers will be touched by this masterful work of art.

Albert Gilles has always considered this collection to be his masterpiece.  These panels were commissioned in 1932 by Aaron Mendelsohn of General Motors, to honor the memory of his late wife. He died before the work was completed.  Albert Gilles will complete his work over the years.

A passion, an art, an extraordinary life.

An adventurous, passionate, intuitive, creative, and non-conformist spirit, Albert Gilles has fully realized his life in his art.

The universe of the craftsman Albert Gilles is revealed to you: From his childhood to his learning of the art of repoussé, to his American years and his achievements commissioned by celebrities, to his talent put at the service of the church.

Retrace his life, his work, his artistic heritage, and that of his family who perpetuates his know-how.
